Barbara E. Adams
MOUNT GILEAD — Barbara E. “Nana” (Arndt) Adams, 58, of Mount Gilead died Friday, May 27, 2005, at the Morrow County Hospital following a short illness.

She was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Galion to the late Thomas E. Arndt and Opal (Koontz) Arndt of Marengo. She was a graduate of Highland High School Class of 1964 and the Ohio Columbus School of Cosmetology. A lifelong resident of the Morrow county area, Barb worked as a beautician at the Morning View Care Center in Fulton for 17 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her companion, David Welch of Pulaskiville; daughters, Bonnie (Robert) Keen of Marengo and Brandi (Sean) Young of Danville; a son, Brent (Belinda) Adams of Edison; 12 grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call today from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 229, Marengo.

Bessie J. Clinedinst
MOUNT VERNON — Bessie Jennie Clinedinst, 70, of Fairgrounds Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005, surrounded by her family at her residence.

She was born June 20, 1934, in Mount Vernon to William and Olive (Carpenter) Ridenbaugh. She had retired from Kmart of Mount Vernon.

She is survived by two sons, Earl (Debbie) Clinedinst and Tom Clinedinst, and two daughters, Susan Loney and Brenda Collins, all of Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Jennifer, Kevin, Ryan, Samantha, Ashley, Sabrina, Jeremy, Jarrod and Kyle; four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Bryson, Madalyn and Braylon; and a sister, Odelva (Leonard) Coon of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hugh Gene Clinedinst; a son, John William Clinedinst; and a brother, William Ridenbaugh Jr.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dennis Moles will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Gerard W. Eisma
UTICA — Gerard W. Eisma, 99, of Utica died May 28, 2005, at his residence.

He was born May 16, 1906, in Arnheim, Netherlands, to Willem Arnoldus and Grietje (Visser) Eisma. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and a 20-year Army veteran serving in World War II and the Pacific Theater.

He is survived by his wife, Edna (Greiner) Eisma, to whom he has been married to for 59 years; a son, William (Linda) Eisma of Gambier; two daughters, Mary Wood of Poulsbo, Wash., and Barbara (Larry) Smith of Tinton Falls, N.J.; three grandchildren, Michelle Stewart, Mark (Andrea) Eisma and Maria (Jim) Nussbaum; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Endel of the Netherlands.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Henry Eisma.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe private services. The Harris-Dilley Funeral Home in Bladensburg assisted the family with arrangements.

Desdemona Landis
FRESNO, Calif. — A graveside service for Desdemona Leota Landis, 75, of Fresno, Calif., formerly of Utica, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in South Lawn Cemetery with Bruce Hissong officiating.

Desdemona died May 27, 2005, at her residence. She was born Feb. 4, 1930, in St. Louis, Mich., to the late Clarence and Stella (Reed) Yoders, formerly of Utica. Mrs. Landis was a retired assembly line leader with Hewlett-Packard.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Denver Ray Landis Sr.; two daughters, Donna (Terrence) Taylor of Buffalo, Minn., and Della (William Waugh) Whitehead of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Denver (Lelani) Landis Jr. of Smithfield, W.Va., and David (Julie) Landis of Ballajura, Western Australia; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Yoder of Hinton, W.Va.; three sisters, Betty Butler of Medford, Ore., Goldie Landis of Woodburn, Ore., and Leaffie Snow of Gallion, Ohio; and one foster brother, Charles Collins of Fredericktown.

She was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren.

The Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, assisted the family with arrangements.

Sarah K. Mullin
FREDERICKTOWN — Sarah Kathlyn “Kitty” Mullin, 90, of Fredericktown died May 28, 2005, at her residence.

She was born May 31, 1914, in Mount Vernon to Charles and Emma (Penhorwood) Trott. She was a member of the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church. Kitty was a homemaker early in life, and later for 35 years, traveled with her husband as an administrative assistant in his representation of Associated Libraries of Philadelphia.

She is survived by two sons, Lyonel (Nick) Mullin of Fredericktown and Michael Mullin of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, David, Mark, Douglas, Joel and Stephen; two great-granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyonel B. Mullin, in 2002; three brothers, Cameron, Ralph Samuel and C. Thomas Trott; two sisters, Ruth Wells and Betty Doup; and a sister-in-law, Leah Marion Mullin.

Friends may call Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the Forest Cemetery, where a graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James L. Peugh
MOUNT VERNON — James Lewis Peugh, 64, of Highland Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005, at MedCentral in Mansfield.

He was born March 8, 1941, in Mount Vernon to Aretas and Thelma (Heffelfinger) Peugh. Jim worked in machine repair for L&B Manufacturing. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge of Mount Vernon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn (Colopy) Peugh; four sons, Daniel Peugh of Mount Vernon, Brian (Laura) Peugh of Newark, Christopher (Nikki) Peugh of Howard and Mark Peugh of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Belinda (Leslie Roderick) Peugh of Troy and Annette (Joseph) Gerome of Fredericktown; 10 grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Nikki, Allie, Zack, Coltn, Alisha, Dereck, Allison and Spencer; four brothers, William Peugh of Reynoldsburg, Chuck (Nancy) Peugh of Mount Vernon, Gerry (Carolyn) Peugh of Mount Vernon and Richard Peugh of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Barbara (Harry) Breneman of Newark and Connie (Bryan) Sims of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 303 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The Rev. Ted Thomas will be the celebrant. A private burial will follow at a later date.
