MOUNT VERNON — Beth M. Boesken, 45, of Eastmoor Drive, Mount Vernon, passed
away Monday, April 4, 2005, at Whispering Hills Care Center. The arrangements
are under the care and direction of the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home.
Wanda G. Faller
UTICA — A funeral service for Wanda G. Faller, 71, of Utica will be Tuesday
at 10 a.m. at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Hissong officiating.
Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Wanda died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born Jan. 31, 1934, in Newark to Grover C. and Nellie (Farrell) Sunkle. She had worked several years at Dairy Mart before going to Kenyon College, where she worked in food service for five years.
She is survived by her daughters, Karon Chapman of New York and Linda Owens of Homer; son, Jack V. Faller Jr. of Newark; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her special friend and companion of 25 years, Boyd Varner.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Morrow; and brother, John Sunkle.

Steve Payne-Herbert
BUTLER — R. Steve Payne-Herbert, 62, of Ankneytown Road, Butler, “crossed
the finish line” Friday evening, April 1, 2005, in Knox Community Hospital
following a short illness.
Steve was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Shelby. He was raised by William Herbert and his mother, Lois E. Herbert-Allard, and was graduated from Shelby High School with the class of 1962. He had worked as a self-employed mechanic of imported automobiles prior to a health condition that resulted in his disability.
He was a lifelong area resident and enjoyed racing both horses and cars, fulfilling his desire for a challenge and his “need for speed.”
In addition to his wife, Darla Holtkamp Herbert, whom he married April 4, 1987, he is survived by a brother, Michael Herbert.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert Payne; and his earthly parents, William Herbert and Lois Herbert-Allard.

HOWARD — Glenn M. Hill, 42, of Howard died April 1, 2005, from injuries
sustained from an automobile accident. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and

MOUNT VERNON — Patti Lingel, 45, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, April 3, 2005,
at Whispering Hills Care Center. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of

Jesse W. Masters
HOWARD — Jesse W. Masters, 41, of Mary Street, Howard, passed away Friday,
April 1, 2005, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born Feb. 5, 1964, in Mount Vernon to Ray Masters and D. Ilene (Dexter) Parrish. Jesse was a member of the H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) and loved spending time with family and friends and riding his Harley.
He is survived by a son, Jesse James Masters of Mount Vernon; his mother, D. Ilene (Carl) Parrish of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Rick (Jacqueline) Masters of Mount Gilead and Larado Masters of Howard; and a stepbrother, Carl (Valerie) Parrish of Mount Vernon.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Johns Cemetery in Mount Vernon. These services are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.

Charlotte Sammons
CENTERBURG — Charlotte L. Sammons, 59, of Centerburg went home to be with
the Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2005.
She was born July 7, 1945, in Columbus to Howard and Edith (Thompson) VanDyke.
She is survived by sons, David (Denise) and Timothy (Richelle) Sammons; a daughter, Renee (David) Young; grandchildren, Ryan and Alexander Young; brothers, Kenneth, Everette, Herbert and Jerry VanDyke; sisters, Genevieve Kelsey, Rita Hamm and Linda VanDyke; two sisters-in-law; four aunts; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, Lloyd Sammons, on Aug. 27, 1991; two brothers; and a sister-in-law.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Colonial City Baptist Church, 7530 Johnstown Road, Mount Vernon. Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.
