Frances B. Carpenter
OLEAN, N.Y. — Frances B. Carpenter, 91, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005,
at St. Joseph’s Manor, Olean, N.Y., following a lengthy illness.
Born June 30, 1913, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Frances was the daughter of Edwin and Lena Belden. She married Charles T. Carpenter on Dec. 29, 1934. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1999. She attended Mount Vernon High School. Following marriage, the couple lived in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pa., then retired to New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She worked for a small company creating dried flower arrangements in sealed, crystal compotes. She was also an accomplished painter with oils, water colors and acrylics. She was a member of the Jane Sheldon Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club; and served as deaconess in the First Presbyterian Church USA. She also enjoyed golf, bridge and travel.
Frances was also preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie C. (Fahy) Burk; and a brother, Herbert L. Belden.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynda C. (Jerry) Bennett of Gaithersburg, Md.; a son, David L. (Mimi) Carpenter of Allegany, N.Y.; a brother, William B. (Inez) Belden of Mesa, Ariz.; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in Mount Vernon at a date to be determined.

Joanne I. Gibson
MOUNT VERNON — Joanne I. Gibson, 71, of Mount Vernon died March 23, 2005,
at the Country Court Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Akron to Eugene and Evelyn (Newsom) Morton.
She is survived by three sons, Randy (Penny) Gibson of Mount Vernon, Rick (Gwen) Gibson of Bellville and Ryan Gibson of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Rene Gibson and Rhonda (Scott) Noble of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, John and Brian Priest; Daniel and Bailey Gibson, Brittany McBride, Emily Noble and Dylan Horn; a great-grandchild, Dominique Shand; two brothers, Eugene (Jane) Morton and Phillip (Edna) Morton of Akron.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Gibson, 1999.
Friends may call Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Pastor Rob Law will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon MemorialGardens.

Lois K. Roberts
FREDERICKTOWN — Lois K. Roberts, 62, of Fredericktown died Friday, March
25, 2005, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Lois was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Mount Vernon to George and Mildred (Pickerington) Warner and had spent her lifetime in the Fredericktown area. Lois was a certified nursing assistant and had been employed at the Hillcrest Nursing Home near Fredericktown for over 20 years.
Surviving are her husband, Carroll K. Roberts, whom she married Oct. 11, 1957; two sons, Shane (Marilyn) Roberts and Clay Roberts, both of Fredericktown; two grandchildren, Whitney and Buck; three stepgrandchildren, Dennis, Amanda and Bridget; her brother, Kelly Warner of Fredericktown; and two sisters, Vonda Coe of Fredericktown and Klair Warner of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery at Fredericktown.

MANSFIELD — John Tretheway, 71, of Mansfield died Tuesday, March 22, 2005,
at Woodlawn Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 29, at 1 p.m. in Mansfield Cemetery. The Diamond Street home of Wappner Funeral directors assisted with arrangements.
