Virgil L. Bisel
BELLVILLE — Virgil Lowell Bisel, 87, of Wagner Road, Bellville, died Saturday
evening, Jan. 29, 2005, in Winchester Terrace following a long illness.
He was born April 21, 1917, in Jefferson Township, Richland County, to Frederick Lloyd and Ethel (Steel) Bisel, and was graduated from Bellville High School in 1936.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Ellen (Hout) Bisel, whom he married Nov. 5, 1939; three sons, Richard (Shirley) Bisel of Bellville, Jerry Bisel and Paul (Janet) Bisel of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Beth Ann (Brian) Faust and Matthew (Tamara) Bisel, both of Bellville, Justin Paul Bisel of Mount Vernon, Tracy Bisel and Scott Bisel, both of Sarasota, Fla., and Jeffrey Hess of Ashland; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 am. Friends may also call Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral. The Rev. Dr. Michael V. Stine will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to Clear Fork Alliance Church or the Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
Paul F. Haberman
CENTERBURG — Paul F. Haberman, 55, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 29,
2005, at Heartland Nursing Home in Centerburg. He fought a hard battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Mount Vernon to Dr. Fred and Elizabeth Haberman. He was a member of the Centerburg Church of Christ and a No. 1 fan of the Centerburg Trojans. He loved his football, basketball and volleyball. He was employed by New Hope School and Industries for 30 years before his retirement.
He is survived by his brother, Phillip (Laura) Haberman of Centerburg; nephews, David and Paul T. Haberman of Centerburg; aunts, Margaret and Clara Haberman, both of Columbus, and Margaret Cochran of Mount Vernon; brother-in-law, Jack Martin; and nieces, Kerry and Laura Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Barbara Martin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg. Funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Centerburg Church of Christ with the Revs. Roger Crego and Fred Albrecht officiating. Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Paul requested donations to Heartland Hospice, 6800 Busch Blvd., Suite 210, Columbus OH 43229; or the Centerburg Alumni Association.
Mary E. McDaniel
UTICA — Mary E. McDaniel, 85, of Utica died Jan. 30, 2005, at Arlington
Nursing Home in Newark.
She was born June 6, 1919, in Utica to Delno Earl and Sarha Faun Elizabeth (Cooksey) Scott. She was a member of Old Country Church in Newark and was employed by Fleming’s Dairy.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie (Bill) Broseus of Utica; five grandchildren, Scott (Darlene) Broseus of Johnstown, Tim (Peach) Broseus of Brushy Fork, Brian (Debbie) Broseus of St. Louisville, Michele (Dick) Kruse of Newark and Mark (Marilyn) McDaniel of Utica; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ellis McDaniel, who died May 19, 1971; a son, Danny Earl McDaniel, in 1987; and a great-grandson, Eric Scott Broseus.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, where funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. Alan Pratt will officiate. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
