Carolyn Spearman
MOUNT VERNON — Carolyn Spearman, 62, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Country Court
Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Mount Vernon to Carl and Gladys Henthorn. She was a member of the Church of God and AMVETS.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Spearman of Howard and Ken Spearman of Lebanon; a daughter, Ronda Fesler of Florida; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be Monday at 4 p.m. at the First Church of God, Pine Street, Mount Vernon. The Rev. Robert Pelfrey will officiate. Following the service, friends and family will gather at AMVETS.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn requested sending donations to Hospice of Knox County or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Ryan P. Todd
HOWARD — Ryan Patrick Todd, 28, of Apple Valley died Jan. 20, 2005, at Coastal
Community Hospital in Santa Ana, Calif. Arrangements are under the care and direction
of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
Walter J. Tucker
BELLVILLE — Walter Junior Tucker, 79, of Rule Road, Bellville, died Thursday
evening, Jan. 27, 2005, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a long illness.
He was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Riverside, W.Va., to Walter and Margie (Deal) Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Thornton) Tucker; seven sons, William Tucker, Robert Tucker, Roger Tucker, Timothy Tucker, Carl Thornton, John Thornton and Donald Thornton; daughter, Darlis Horn; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Roger Garrison and Pastor Russell Stanford will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery, where the Richland County Joint Veterans Council will hold military graveside honors.

Arthur E. Williams
MOUNT VERNON — Arthur Earl Williams, 95, of Mount Vernon died Jan. 26, 2005,
at Country Court Nursing Center.
He was born March 1, 1909, in Uhrichsville to Arthur B. and Maybelle (MacKay) Williams. Mr. Williams has been a Mount Vernon resident since 1921. He was the co-owner of Williams Flower Shop until his retirement in 1977. During World War II he worked at the Cooper-Bessemer Co. He was a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church, a 60-year member of the Mount Zion Lodge 9 F&AM, Masons of Ohio. A senior member of the Old Homestead Club, he was also a patron member of the Humane Society of Knox County. He was a former member of the Florists Telegraph and Delivery Association (FTD), Mount Vernon-Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Mount Vernon Country Club, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Charles G. S. Williams of Columbus and Mount Vernon; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lester Williams of Mount Vernon.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Thelma (Singer) Williams, who died in 1987; two sisters, Violet Levering and Ruth Hagen; and two brothers, N. Paul Williams and J. Lester Williams.
There will be no calling hours. Family will observe a private burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
