Florence Altizer
MOUNT VERNON — Florence Altizer, 88, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, Jan.
5, 2005, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
She was born April 29, 1916, in Columbus and had been a resident of the city of Mount Vernon since 1992. Florence enjoyed gardening, needlework, painting and reading.
Florence was a very special person and she was loved and cared for by her family of friends and the staff of The Laurels of Mount Vernon. As Florence made her final journey home to be with the Lord, she was surrounded with those same close loved ones and her loving friends Jenny Hollifield and Pam Foster. She will be forever remembered.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Altizer; and a son, John Altizer.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon. John Whisner will officiate. Robert E. Briggs
MOUNT VERNON — Robert E. Briggs, 72, of Mount Vernon died Jan. 6, 2005,
at Knox Community Hospital. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth Harmon
MOUNT VERNON — Elizabeth K. Harmon, 83, of 1350 Yauger Road, Mount Vernon,
and formerly of Youngstown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Country Club
Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Youngstown to Michael and Teresa (Kumik) Czarnecki. Mrs. Harmon worked as a stenographer for the Butler & Wick & Company. She was a founding member of St. Christine’s Catholic Church in Youngstown, and was active in the Judea Christian Interdenominational Study Group and the Infant Jesus of Prague Society.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harold Harmon of Mount Vernon; a son, Dr. Scott (Ann) Harmon of Fredericktown; a daughter, Sherry (Dave) Perrine of Detroit, Mich.; a grandson, Wyatt Harmon; and a sister, Anne De Long of Youngstown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Czarnecki; and a sister, Marie Stolitvka.
Calling hours will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home in Youngstown. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Christine’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at Youngstown. The Snyder Funeral Home, Fredericktown, assisted the family with arrangements.
