Wilma Browning
MARENGO — Wilma Gay Browning, 67, of Marengo died Dec. 20, 2004, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

She was born June 10, 1937, in Logan, W.Va., to Lones and Hazel Vodis (Easterling) May.

Surviving are sons, William R., Joe and Danny (Vickie) Browning, all of Marengo; daughters, Linda Hart of Columbus and Vergie Denty of Marengo; considered Roger Mayhew of Marion and David Mayhew of Columbus as her children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Lee and Patty Porter of Marengo, Nancy Miller and Shirley Bragg of Columbus, Janet Roberts of Highpoint, N.C., and Kay Belcher of Gilbert, W.Va.; and brothers, Willis “Peanut” May of Leesburg, Fla., and Mickey May of Jal, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse R. Browning; and brother, L.J. May in 2004.

Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until 2 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo, where service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor John Brock will officiate. Interment will follow in Butter Cemetery.

Larry E. Davis
FREDERICKTOWN — Larry E. Davis, 54, of Taylor Street, Fredericktown, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at his residence.

Larry was born Sept. 8, 1950, in Mount Vernon to George and Mary (Conn) Davis. He was a graduate of Fredericktown High School and was employed as a welder at the Flxible Co. in Loudonville from 1971 to 1984. In 1985, Larry started his own plumbing business in Fredericktown, which he maintained until his death. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing. He had many friends at the Knox Lake Marina near Fredericktown. Larry was a member of the Owl Creek Church of Brethren at Ankenytown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Charlene (Snyder) Davis, whom he married on April 15, 1972; two sons, Kevin (Tanita) Davis of Butler and Charles (Tracy) Davis of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Brooklyn Davis, Cody Davis, Mason Davis, Bethany Davis and Cory Davis; his sister, Cathrine (Clarence) Birchfield of South Carolina; his mother-in-law, Kathryn Snyder of Fredericktown; sisters-in-law, Janet (Lonnie) McKee of Marion, Jackie (Buddy) Price of Mount Vernon and Joyce Stevens of Fredericktown; three nephews; and many cousins, friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Charles Snyder; and an aunt and uncle, Eleanor and Dale Algire.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren in Ankenytown with the Rev. Mac Abbott officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery at Fredericktown. These services are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown.

Ethel E. Ellis
MOUNT VERNON — Ethel E. Ellis, 91, of Mount Vernon died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital.

She retired in 1983 from the Court of Domestic Relations, and was a member of Millersport Lions Club and Blendon Senior Center.

Surviving are a daughter, Joretta Whipple of Howard; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Lawrence Seipel and Orval Ellis; son, Lewis Seipel; and sisters, Elsie Auborn and Martha Plank.

Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St. (one-half mile south of Interstate 270), where funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Patrick Bailey will officiate. Interment will be in Blendon Cemetery.

Martha K. Moody
CUYAHOGA FALLS — Martha K. Moody, 86, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home at Mount Vernon. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Vernon.

David C. Sherwood
MOUNT VERNON — David Charles Sherwood, 67, of Mount Vernon died Dec. 20, 2004, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Wakeman to Paul Grove and Margaret Mabel (Patrick) Sherwood.

He is survived by two brothers, Richard (Joyce) Sherwood of Venice, Fla., and Lawrence Sherwood of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sherwood.

Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. in the North-Dilley Funeral Home. Pastor Jamie Gump will officiate. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
