Billy Lee Blue
WALHONDING — Billy Lee Blue, 69, of Woods Church Road, Walhonding, passed
away peacefully, surrounded by his family Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at his residence,
after a well-fought battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Butler Township to Charles W. and Edith V. (Hall)
Blue. He was a lifetime resident of Butler Township in Knox County, and he attended
Bladensburg High School. He served in the Army from 1958-60, competing in NATO
matches while a member of the rifle team, winning many honors. On Sept. 22, 1961,
he was married to Janet C. Stokes, who survives. He was a retired truck driver
from Semac Industries of Millersburg. After 30 years of service, he was awarded
a commendation for 1 million accident and citation-free miles. His hobbies included
vegetable and flower gardening, and fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband
and father, and was happiest when in the company of his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Janet; a daughter, Kelly (Greg)
Borror of Walhonding; his canine and feline companions, Lacy and Wendy; a sister,
Betty (John) Frost of Columbus; brother- and sister-in-law, Bill and Gloria Stokes
of Walhonding; sister-in-law, Manda Kreider of Alabama; brother- and sister-in-law,
Roger and Dorothy Stokes of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville,
where calling hours will be from noon until time of the funeral. Pastor Daniel
Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Woods Cemetery.

to Hospice of Knox County, 302 E. High St., Mount Vernon 43050.
Beatrice Linsley
MOUNT VERNON — Beatrice L. Linsley, 89, of Mount Vernon died Dec. 14, 2004,
at Apison, Tenn. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah L. Rowley
TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Sarah L. Rowley, 95, a former Mount Vernon resident,
died Dec. 14, 2004, in Titusville, Fla.
She was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Ross County to William L. and Amanda (Gault) Lewis.
She was a member of the New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Titusville. She
and her husband, Dick, were the former owners of the Tomahawk Golf Course.
She is survived by a son, Rex L. Rowley of Englewood, Fla.; two daughters, Rebecca
Miller of Englewood, Fla., and Virginia Side of Titusville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren;
19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy West of Washington Court House
and Virginia Lewis of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Rowley,
in 1993; and two sisters, Martha Lewis and Clarabelle McKinley.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at the New Life Christian
Fellowship Church in Titusville, Fla. A memorial service in Mount Vernon will
be held at a later date. The North-Dilley Funeral Home assisted the family with
arrangements.

Larry Talbot
HOWARD — Larry Talbot, 49, of Millwood Road, Howard, passed away
on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004.
He was born Dec. 6, 1955, in Akron to Donald W. and Ruby (Geer) Talbot. Larry
was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
He is survived by his mother; a son, Jason Lang of Mount Vernon; four brothers,
Ed (Marie) Talbot of Barberton, Marvin (Cindy) Talbot of Rootstown, Dennis Talbot
of Centerburg and Richard (Missy) Talbot of Danville; and two sisters, Sandra
(Donn) McClary of Centerburg and Shirley (Dave) Graham of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Talbot; and two brothers, Donald
P. Talbot and Kenneth Talbot.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. These services are under
the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.

Rose Marie Tharp
MOUNT VERNON — Rose Marie Tharp, 75, of Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon, passed
away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital.
She was born July 18, 1929, in Mount Vernon to William Edward and Mary Inez (Conner)
Blubaugh. Mrs. Tharp worked as a telephone operator for United Telephone. She
was a member of the Kokosing Weavers Guild.
She is survived by her two sons, Craig (Jennifer) Tharp of Mount Vernon and Earl
(Darlene) Tharp of Danville; seven grandchildren, Jason Tharp, Ashton Tharp, Amy
Hursey, Aleah Padisak, Cole Tharp, Anevin Tharp and Anesha Tharp; and a great-grandson,
Colton Hursey.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbur Tharp,
in 1989; a brother, William Leonard Blubaugh; and a sister, Mary Catherine Wade.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral in Mount
Vernon, where a funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. with Ben McKinstry
officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Glenn M. Wolfe
GAMBIER — Glenn M. Wolfe, 82, of Gambier died Dec. 12, 2004, at Riverside
Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born March 12, 1922, in Harrison Township to Lee and Laura (Hall) Wolfe.
He was a 60-year member of the Pleasant Grange, a 50-year member of the Knights
of Pythias, and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was a 17-year
employee of American National Can and was a lifelong self-employed farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Rose (Lahmon) Wolfe, to whom he had been married 60
years; special friend, Tippy; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law,
Sue House and Beverly Lahmon of Mount Vernon.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where
the funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor Kevin Pellinen will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
