FREDERICKTOWN — Howard L. “Shad” Wheeler, 66, of Fredericktown
died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Knox Community Hospital. The North-Dilley Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
William W. Willis
CENTERBURG — William Wendell Willis, 81, of Centerburg died Sunday, Nov.
21, 2004, at Heartland of Centerburg Nursing Home, where he had resided for the
past two years.
Formerly of Detroit, Mich., William was a World War II veteran and served in the Pacific Theater and New Guinea. He worked at an auto plant in Detroit when he came home from the war. He also worked for the city of Detroit for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Willis of Centerburg; sons, Robert Willis of Detroit, Mich., Chris (Connie) Willis of Mount Vernon, Harry (Donna) Willis of Dearborn, Mich., and Harold Willis of Detroit, Mich.; a daughter, Shirley (Tom) Blanken of Efland, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervi and Eva Willis; a son, Richard Willis; and a sister, Doris of Phoenix, Ariz.
Visitation and the funeral were held Friday, Nov. 26, at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, with the Rev. Jack Clouston officiating. Interment was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
