Phyllis J. Parsons
DANVILLE — Phyllis Jean Parsons, 81, of Cline Road, Danville, passed away peacefully Nov. 9, 2004, at her home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Virginia, Minn., to Irvin and Ida (Santa) Baker. She was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband owned and operated the salvage yard on Cline Road. She was active in the EUB Brimfield Church and worked on the staff at Kent State University for two years.

She is survived by her husband, Forrest J. Parsons Sr., with whom she just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Nov. 5. Also surviving are a daughter, Jo Ellen Good of Old Town, Fla.; two sons, Forrest “Sonny” Parsons of Akron and David Parsons of Iowa; eight grandchildren, Roberta, Carolyn, George Jr., Samantha, Debbie, Jeffrey, Kimberly and Stephanie; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Yakus of Mogadore and Rose Finello of Milwaukee, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Parsons; and a grandson, Charlie Parsons.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Prairie Township Cemetery in Holmesville with Branch President Rene Scorsby of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Knox County, 302 E. High St., Mount Vernon 43050.

William H. Steward
MARENGO — William H. Steward, 72, of Marengo died unexpectedly at home Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004. Arrangements will be announced by the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Marengo. Condolences may be expressed at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.

Nicholas A. Woody
COLUMBUS — Nicholas Allan Woody, age 1 year, 3 months, 2 days, of Columbus died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Daniel and Ruth Woody, Edward Sr. and Margaret Cleary, and Paul and Almeda Sheets.

He is survived by his parents, Chris and Deb Woody; a brother, Daniel; a sister, Alexis; grandparents, Steve and Donna Woody, Ray and Carolyn Stewart, and Jon and Florence Cleary; uncles, Brian Woody and Ed Cleary III; great-grandparents, Ed and Lida Senseman; aunt, Margaret (Dave) Foster; cousins, Danika and Jon; and many other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, 303 S. Edgewood Road, Mount Vernon. Pastor Robert Hendricks will officiate. Arrangements are by Rutherford Funeral Home, 2383 N. High St., Columbus.
