Virgil D. Carr
DANVILLE — Virgil Dwaine Carr, 69, of Jelloway Road, Danville, died Sunday,
Oct. 17, 2004, at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Mount Vernon to Alva R. and Ruth D. (Kodger) Carr. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1960. On March 7, 1959, he was married to Iva McClain, who survives. He was employed at Flxible for over 30 years. He was a member of the Greer Wesleyan Church. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Iva, he is survived by his mother, Ruth; a son, Dwaine (Marilyn) Carr of Danville; two daughters, Brenda (Tim) Strobert of Mount Vernon and Sherry (Dan) Gatton of Danville; seven grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Kelly, Craig, Danielle “Dani,” Steven and Donna; a brother, Lloyd (Ellen); and seven sisters, Anna (Thurman), Ruby (Joe), Faye (Joe), Linda, Janice, Wanna Jean (Wesley) and June (George).
He was preceded in death by his father, Alva; and a sister, Donna Mae Carr.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Lloyd Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, with graveside military rites performed by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday until service time.

died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. The Snyder

Oct. 18, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be through

18, 2004, at Country Court Nursing Center. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is

Mary A. White
MOUNT VERNON — Mary Amalia White, 81, of Mount Vernon died Saturday, Oct.
16, 2004, at her son’s residence in Frankfort.
She was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Puerto de Luna, N.M., to Demetrio and Josepha (Abeyta) Madrid. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, George R.E. White; two sons, Benny (Susan) Marquez of Frankfort and Eddie (Margaret) Marquez of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Rita Marquez of Albuquerque, N.M., and Lucy Chavez of Santa Rosa, N.M.; 40 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Andres Rito Madrid of Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Lucia Madrid Vrizuela of Tempe, Ariz.; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby Cunningham of Mount Vernon and Carol Lawrence of Virginia.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tony Marquez; one son, Tony “Jo Jo” Marquez; two sisters, Rita Madrid Torres and Crisofora Madrid Pacheco.
In following with Mrs. White’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or memorial service observed. The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
