Clarence Belcher

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Clarence Raymond Belcher, 96, a former resident of Centerburg, died Aug. 16, 2004, in Bakersfield, Calif.
He was born June 3, 1908, in Russell County, Va., to Carter and Ora (Pruett) Belcher. He married Dorothy Martin on Dec. 25, 1938. In 1943 they moved to Oakland, Calif. They relocated to Burbank, Calif., in 1948 where he was employed by the Pioneer Supermarket for 25 years. Following his retirement they moved to Bakersfield, Calif. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; and brothers, Carl (Betty) of Beaverton, Ore., Frank (Mary Belle) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Foy of Glendale, Calif.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Herman; and sisters, Reba Keller, Ida Peugh, Sally Girthel Henwood and Kathleen Tier.
Private services were held in Bakersfield on Aug. 18.

MOUNT VERNON — Albert Seymour Davison, 75, of Vernedale Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

AVON LAKE — Russell E. Lynch Sr., 81, of Avon Lake passed away Friday, July 16, 2004, at St. John West Shore Hospital.
A graveside service for Mr. Lynch, husband of Vesta Keyes Lynch, will be Saturday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier.

Leland F. Tucker

MOUNT VERNON — Leland F. Tucker, 77, of Mount Vernon died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Leland was born July 9, 1927, in Mount Vernon to D. Guy and Elizabeth T. Tucker and had spent his lifetime in the Knox County area. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was recalled to duty for the Korean conflict. Leland was retired from AMG Industries in Mount Vernon. He was an active member of the Beulah United Methodist Church near Mount Vernon.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Ellen (Hyatt) Tucker, whom he married May 2, 1948; his daughter, Tamara (Dennis) Swingle of Mount Vernon; his son, Douglas (Carol) Tucker of Powell; his grandson, Scott Swingle of Mount Vernon; and his sister, Beverly Tucker of Mount Vernon.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery on New Delaware Road near Mount Vernon.
