MOUNT VERNON — Dale J. Hite, 82, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday,
March 31, 2004, at the Arlington Nursing Home in Newark. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral

Randy Mabe
MARION — Randy Joe Pete Mabe, 47, of Marion passed away unexpectedly the
morning of March 29, 2004, at Galion Community Hospital.
He was born in Virginia on Sept. 15, 1956, to Willie and Viola (Elswick) Mabe. Randy was a maintenance supervisor at the Glen-Gery Brick Plant in Iberia and was a member of Marion Moose Lodge 889.
He is survived by his wife, Sharyn (Reasoner) Mabe; his mother of Fredericktown; two sons, Jason (Amanda) Mabe and Keith (Nicole) Mabe, both of Marion; two grandchildren, Aaliyah and Landon Mabe; four brothers, Lafayette (Ellen) Mabe, Claude (Linda) Mabe, James Mabe and Steve Mabe; and his two sisters, Nell (Jerry) Clevinger and Louise Barbour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Whitten Mabe.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, 318
Mount Vernon Ave., Marion, where the funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev.
Craig F. Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in the historic Marion Cemetery.

Phyllis N. Neer
HOWARD — Phyllis M. Neer, age 78, of Apple Valley, Howard, died March 9,
2004, at her winter home in Englewood, Fla.
She is survived by her loving husband, Neil H. Neer, to whom she had been married 53 years; a son, David (Linda) Neer of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Carol (Rodney) Johnson of Dresden, Fla.; three grandchildren, Chris and Jennifer Johnson and Gregory Neer; three brothers, Dale (Dorothy) Ziegler and Danny Ziegler of Melmore and Allen Ziegler of Sandusky.
Friends may call Saturday, April 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 200 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where service will be at 3 p.m. The Rev. Keith Stuart will officiate.

GROVE CITY — Marjorie Louise “Margie” (Fair) Vernon, 78, of
Grove City passed away March 27, 2004, at Grant Medical City at Columbus.
She was born July 2, 1925, in Mount Vernon to Charley E. and Maud (Mahaffey) Fair.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Fair Adomaitis; nieces, Susan Adomaitis
Armstrong and Sheila Fair Cochran; and nephews, John L. Fair and Michael L. Fair.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Butch”
Vernon; brothers, Leland C. Fair and John L. Fair; sister, Susan Ann Fair; and
aunts and uncle.
Graveside service will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery at Gambier. The Schoedinger Norris Chapel in Grove City is in charge of arrangements.
