Clara Hatten
CARDINGTON — Clara “Grandma” Hatten, 58, of Cardington, formerly
of Marengo, died Wednesday evening, March 17, 2004, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born July 11, 1945, to Hubert and Grace (Hinderlong) Blackledge.
She is survived by two sons, David “Phil” and Daniel Hatten, both of Cardington; two daughters, Clara (Bill) Calendine of Columbus and Barbara (Steve) Pate of Milford Center; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Mildred Kinnison of Ashley.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Howard Blackledge.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 229, Marengo, where funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. The Rev. James Brantingham will officiate. Burial will follow in the Alum Creek Friends Church Cemetery.

Bruce L. McGregor
MOUNT VERNON — Bruce L. McGregor, 4 Waters Edge, Mount Vernon, passed away
unexpectedly March 13, 2004.
The son of James Robert and Alma (Larson) McGregor, Mr. McGregor was born April 20, 1916, near Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Canada.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Evelyn H. McGregor; and a sister, Audrey Winkler.
Mr. McGregor is survived by his wife, Doriene; his daughters, Cheryl Church and Maxine McDonald; sons-in-law, Michael Church and Bruce McDonald; grandchildren, Jenna Nichols and husband, Jamey, Evan Rice and wife, Tammy, and Adam Makruski; a great-grandson, Tristan Nichols; a niece Laurie Burroughs; a stepgranddaughter, Michele Church; and stepchildren, Gregory, Grant, Moira, Craig, Rob and Neil Pittam, and their families.
Mr. McGregor was a retired advertising sales representative. He spent his early years in Sidney, N.Y., where he was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, later moving to Glenview, Ill., and Westlake, Ohio, where he served as treasurer of the Cleveland Advertising Association. In retirement he resided for several years at Apple Valley near Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he served as treasurer of the Apple Valley Property Owners Association. His final years were spent in Fredericktown, Ohio, Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Mr. McGregor was an avid boating enthusiast and enjoyed cruising the Great Lakes and Apple Valley Lake on his own boats and in his later years enjoyed several commercial cruises with his loving wife, Doriene. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
The funeral was March 17, officiated by the Rev. Dr. David Baker. Entombment followed in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon was in charge of arrangements.

Gary L. Myers
NEWARK — Gary L. Myers, 59, of Newark died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at
his residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1944, in Newark. Mr. Myers was the proud owner of Myers Pool Co. for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie (Richards) Myers of Newark; sons, Clark (Donna) Adcock Myers and Matthew (Karen) Myers of Newark; father, Paul Myers of Newark; mother, Altha Myers of Newark; sister, Delcie (Clem) Anderson of Newark; brother, Bill Myers of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services. The Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home of Newark assisted the family with arrangements.
