MOUNT VERNON — Sealing the Kokosing Gap Trail is scheduled for Tuesday.
Trail guests are requested to avoid use of the trail during this time. The entire trail will be sealed and trail users can expect closure of portions of the trail as equipment progresses from Mount Vernon to Danville. The project should be completed in one day. If weather prohibits work on Tuesday the project is scheduled to be completed the following day.
Sealing of the trail was last completed three years ago. According to Kokosing Gap Trail Board president, Randy Cronk, “The trail board is very pleased to be able to reseal the trail this year as we believe this project is critical to preserving and extending the life of the trail.”
The project is made possible by grants received from the Ariel Foundation and from The Community Foundation of Mount Vernon & Knox County.
