MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Women’s Aglow will have as a guest speaker Debora Collins on Monday, May 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Covenant Christian Church, 13360 New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon.
Collins was born in Mount Vernon at Mercy Hospital on May 14, 1957. Her father passed in March of the same year, before she was born. He named her Debora Ann not knowing she was a girl. Debora means the bee, who carries the honey, sweet honey of the word, truth. It also means The Judge, as Deborah in the old testament. Her middle name, Ann, means full of grace. And that is the word, the truth she is to bring to Mount Vernon, the place of her birth, in May. Grace is a judicial word as well as a verb. She will be bringing a teaching of “Grace” to release to Aglow. This will be a journey home for her and the place of her birth.
Collins was married in 1975 to Gary Collins; they have two daughters, Ginger and Angela. They also have four grandchildren. Gary and Debora have been business owners in central Ohio for more than 35 years. Debora holds a master’s degree in psychology, biblical pastoral counseling, and education. She has traveled extensively ministering and helping ministries.
