MOUNT VERNON — A Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon will be held Saturday, April 20 to benefit the United Way’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The breakfast will be held at Ruby Tuesday’s Restaurant from 7 to 11 a.m.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library sends a free book every month to participating children in Knox County until they are 5 years old. The county-wide early learning program is an effort to prepare children for school. Last year alone, 13,452 books were mailed to 1,765 children. This month, books will be mailed to 1,270 Knox County children.
Ruby Tuesday’s is located at 1055 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon. Tickets are available at the door or from any Kiwanian.
Kiwanis is an international organization of member volunteers who are dedicated to projects that strengthen communities and serve children.
