MOUNT VERNON — How many times have you read a book and said “I could have written that!” November is the time to stop the excuses and start writing as part of the National Novel Writing Month or “NaNoWriMo” Challenge.
“No Excuses! Write Your Novel in 30 Days” will be the topic of the next Brown Bag Chat on Wednesday at noon at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry St.
The NaNoWriMo “competition” is held throughout the month of November, and participants attempt to start and finish a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. Aaron Allard, a law graduate by day and aspiring novelist by night, successfully completed the program last year; and will give tips, tricks and encouragement to get individuals writing.
Special guest Zach Wall, a local author, will talk about the inspiration and techniques behind his first novel, “Inceptum,” to help others follow their dream.
The program is free and open to the public. Feel free to bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages provided. For additional information, call the main library at 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit www.knox.net; or email communityrelations@knox.net.
