MOUNT VERNON — Two Ohio Woodland Stewards Forestry workshops will be held in November.

“Forests Food for Wildlife: Enhancing Mast Production” will be held Friday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Knox County Health Department, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon. The day-long workshop will be focused on the identification and enhancement of mast-producing trees, those whose nuts, berries and seeds serve as an important food source to many species of forest wildlife. There will be a discussion of a variety of mast-producing species and their different nutritional values, and a focus on management strategies that will improve mast production and attract wildlife. This workshop offers five hours of continuing education credits toward the Ohio Forest Tax Law program. There is a fee. To register call 614-68-3421 or visit woodlandstewards.osu.edu.

“Your Woods, Water & Wildlife Landowner workshop” will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Der Dutchman Restaurant, 720 Ohio 97 West, Bellville. OSU Extension educators will teach attendees about what they have on their property and what they can have. They will explore how to keep your woodland healthy, how to improve it for wildlife and timber and how to manage other natural areas on your private land. This workshop offers six hours of continuing education credits toward the Ohio Forest Tax Law program. There is a fee.

To register call 614-688-3421 or visit woodlandstewards.osu.edu.
