BLADENSBURG — Longtime Jackson Township officials Jim Dugan and Carol Heistermann were honored Monday night for their combined 62 years of service to the township.
Heistermann has stepped down after 34 years as the township fiscal officer, while Dugan served a total of 28 years as a trustee.
They were presented plaques for their service by Trustee Jeff Dugan (Jim Dugan’s son), who said the work they did they did well and it is appreciated.
Heistermann, who became clerk in 1979 following the death of Lawrence Harris, said the thing that stands out most about her term in office was that “Everybody has been great to work with.”
The biggest change has been going from keeping the books manually, to doing them on computers.
