MOUNT VERNON — Do you have any old coins or jewelry sitting around the house and you’re not sure what they are worth? If so, you may be in luck. Gold, silver, rare coins, jewelry and currency are the hot items in Mount Vernon this week as local residents are taking the opportunity to cash in at the National Coin Collectors Association buying event at The Station Break, 160 Howard St.

Field manager for the event is Angela Wright, local resident and NCCA member, who will give a free appraisal on items and offer cash on the spot for coins, gold and silver, currency and jewelry items. Wright will even offer purchases of diamonds, costume jewelry and sterling flatware.

“It’s an opportunity for people to earn some extra Christmas money or pay some bills,” said Wright about this week’s event. Like all NCCA events, top dollar will be offered for all items. “It’s an easy event, and there will be no pressure to make a sale.”
