DANVILLE — On Monday, the Danville Board of Education passed resolutions formally commending athletes and musicians. It lauded the Danville football teams and coaches for a successful season, and recognized the band for its outstanding performance at the Chicago Thanksgiving Day parade. High school principal Ed Honabarger said the band has received an [tentative] invitation to a festival in West Virginia from organizers who were impressed when they saw videos of the Chicago parade.

The main discussion item at the meeting was the high school building and the cost of needed repairs and upgrades, such a roof repair, heating improvements and technology upgrades. The board made no decisions concerning the facility at this time.
