MOUNT VERNON — Collaborative projects between the school district and the city were discussed Monday evening when the Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education hosted Mount Vernon City Council for their annual joint meeting at the Mount Vernon Middle School library. Agenda for the evening was non-action driven but was rather discussion oriented on projects which could better serve our community.

“We’re all in this community together, and we have the best desires for the community,” said Mount Vernon Schools superintendent William Seder, who was attending his first meeting of this sort.

Addressing the first question of the evening on “What can be done to improve the quality of life in Mount Vernon that would also improve property values, and attract business and industry?” was Mount Vernon City Council President Bruce Hawkins.
