BLADENSBURG — The 43rd annual Bladensburg Christmas Parade was full of holiday cheer and laughter; complete with snow falling and children smiling. Although numbers for this year’s parade were down, the holiday spirit was anything but absent. Children lined the streets with bags ready for candy, and waited for the last vehicle in the parade, which brought Santa into view. Jumping up and down the crowd, from young to old, took joy in attending the Bladensburg Christmas Parade.

With 27 entries this year judges Paul Hunter, Rod Baughman and Charlie Hunt had their work cut out for them. Crystal Gallwitz worked with other community members to get everyone lined up in time for the big start, along with volunteers helping to collect Toys for Tots.
