DANVILLE — The Danville Village Council received some good news on one of its proposed projects.

The village learned it could receive funding for its parking lot project at the village park. Officials received a letter from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources stating the village has been conditionally awarded funding of $19,000 for the project through the Nature Works program. The village also has a tentative award of $35,000 from a Community Development Block Grant and $3,000 promise from the Knox County Park District for the project. Once final approval is made for these grants, the village will be able to go ahead with the project and will only owe $3,000.

Another piece of good news was that Jonathan Snyder’s Eagle Scout project is moving forward. Snyder reported to council he hopes to finish digging on the park fountain this week.
