FREDERICKTOWN — Former local resident Kate (Newkirk) Randall is starring in the upcoming film “My Son,” a story about a family torn apart by “questionable circumstances” and the challenge for one man to bring them all back together, as “love has no limits.” The film, by Retta Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas, is directed by Jarod O’Flaherty.

Randall said she got her start here in Knox County, growing up in Fredericktown.

“I went to acting camp when I was younger, but I was involved in a lot of the church plays at the church I went to here in Fredericktown,” said Randall. Randall said that she was also involved in musicals at Fredericktown High School from her freshman year to her senior year, in 2010. After high school, Randall attended The Ohio State University, Mansfield Campus, for Early Childhood Education.

“Then I got married and my husband was stationed in Fort Irvin, Calif., in the Mojave Desert so we moved. I left OSU and continued my education online and hopefully in three weeks I’ll graduate with my associates in Early Childhood Development,” said Randall.
