MOUNT VERNON — Public service as a school board member is not an easy task and it is often a thankless one. Bennett has served 25 years as a Mount Vernon City School Board member and officer, sits on the Knox County Career Center Board, is a member of the central region executive committee and the OSBA Board of Trustees, among other education-related activities.
