FREDERICKTOWN — Village water customers will find out Nov. 4 what their water rates will look like next year. Village Administrator Gary Gallogly said an ordinance will be ready for council at its next meeting incorporating some of the changes they know the Rural Community Assistance Program is likely to recommend.
The full report from RCAP is not expected to be received before the beginning of the year, Gallogly said, and they need a new rate measure in place by then. Because of the pending report, the ordinance will only set rates for a year, and the village can modify it based on the RCAP report.
Council’s Finance Committee will meet prior to the Nov. 4 meeting to discuss the rate ordinance.
In a bit of better news, council received a check from FT Precision for $15,000 toward the cost of constructing the bicycle path through the village. The village will be sending a letter of thanks to the company and it will be among the donors listed on signage that will be erected at the path.
