FREDERICKTOWN — Work on the village’s new water tower should resume in a week to 10 days, Village Administrator Gary Gallogly told Fredericktown Village Council Monday evening. Gallogly said the contractor, Gateway Tower, has about three or four weeks of work to finish the tower, including putting in the ballast at the base of the tower, installing a floor and finishing the top. The project includes installation of the recently delivered panels which have Fredericktown’s name on them.
Meanwhile, the electrical contractor is waiting for the work to proceed far enough for it to install the electrical systems and software controls.
Gallogly said he hopes the project will be completed by the end of November.
The tower is several months behind schedule as the original completion date was June 25. Gallogly said work was delayed because of bad weather last winter and penalties for the late completion will have to be worked out after the project is finished.
