MOUNT VERNON — Amber Pilotti, 32, has pleaded guilty to several charges in the Feb. 14 death of Brad Grosscup, 52, of 209 Shirley Ave.
On Sept. 16, she entered guilty pleas to charges of complicity to commit felonious assault, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse and aggravated arson. A charge of complicity to commit murder and a second charge of aggravated arson were dropped in exchange for her testimony in the trial of Jedediah Lang, 32, also charged in the Grosscup death.
Complicity to commit aggravated arson is a first-degree felony, tampering with evidence is a third-degree felony, gross abuse of a corpse is a fifth-degree felony and complicity to commit felonious assault is a second-degree felony.
Grosscup was found dead at the Shirley Avenue address when Mount Vernon firefighters responded to a fire alarm there. An autopsy revealed that he was dead before the fire was set.
