HOWARD — The East Knox community — along with staff members, parents and children — joined together to support the upcoming levy campaign in November for the East Knox 5K Run-Walk on Labor Day.
Roughly 160 members of the community were preregistered and, by the start of the race, there were 178 participants in all. The number was triple what anyone had expected.
“What we see here this morning, if it’s any indication of the things to come in the next 64 days, we should pass this levy in November with flying colors,” said East Knox superintendent Steve Larcomb.
