UTICA — For Hadley George being around dogs is second nature. Last year Hadley had recognized a few of her classmates were ill with cancer and she saw a need.
“I thought they probably would miss their (own) dog,” said Hadley. She said that if she was in their shoes she would want to see a familiar face as well.
Hadley’s mom, Lisa Ramirez George, owns Ripsnorter Kennel in Utica where they take the time to breed, raise and show their growing family of German Wirehaired Pointers and Pudelpointers.
Hadley, is currently a third grader at Utica Elementary School, but during the summer she became therapy certified along with her German Wirehaired Pointer, Lola, as a part of Therapy Dogs International. Hadley is a cloverbud in K-9 Companions 4-H, and she would like to go on to bring Lola in to either a local reading program for kids or be able to visit others in hospitals with Lola.
