DANVILLE — Danville will be getting a new police cruiser.
Members of Danville Village Council voted at a meeting Monday to authorize a loan through First-Knox National Bank for the purchase of a 2014 Ford utility vehicle for the police department. The vehicle will cost $40,756 and will be fully equipped for police work as well as the K-9 unit.
The loan will be for five years at 3 percent interest with the village paying five payments of $8,886.89 each, beginning in August 2014.
Council also voted on a couple of other items at the meeting. First, they tentatively set Thursday, Oct. 31, as Trick-or-Treat night in the village. The annual event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
