MOUNT VERNON — Besides the introduction of new staff members, Thursday’s meeting of the Knox County Career Center school board was largely routine.
Superintendent Bernie Pachmayer told the News the board accepted the resignations of teacher aide Jenyce Wise and sports medicine/exercise science instructor Wesley Elifritz. It subsequently employed Elizabeth Edinger as sports medicine/exercise science instructor and granted her five extended days to set up the lab. Peggy Pursel was hired as a one-half time instructor for pre-professional mentorship, and Lane West was added to the substitute teacher list for the 2013-14 school year.
English teacher Sarah Aleshire, JROTC instructor Craig Cox and math teacher Dan Matheny were advanced on the salary schedule due to completion of requirements, and the board approved job-related membership fees for KCCC administrators, such as the Association for Career Technical Educators.
