DANVILLE — Two teams from Danville Middle School competed in the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education’s Middle School Mock Trial Showcase held April 11.

The 2013 Middle School Mock Trial State Showcase was based on the novel “Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry” by Mildred Taylor. Set in rural Mississippi in 1933, character T.J. Avery is accused of murder when a robbery goes awry.

Fifteen schools participated in 16 separate trials throughout the day. Each team was required to prepare both prosecution and defense cases and to participate in two trials against different teams.
