MOUNT VERNON — The doors were closed Friday morning at Henry’s at The Curtis Inn, a move made by Walter D’Sovza, manager of The Curtis Inn. D’Sovza closed the restaurant due to what he calls mismanagement on the part of restaurant manager Ed Manders, citing reasons of not maintaining the standards expected of the restaurant. D’Sovza had been in contact with hotel owner Amit Bansal who agreed to the closure.

Henry’s at The Curtis Inn was leased to Manders in the spring of 2012. Henry’s once was Indian cuisine with a lunch buffet. Manders is the second restaurant manager since the switch to American cuisine.

D’Sovza claims that consistent hours had not been observed. “They just open when they want and close when they want,” said D’Sovza. Other problems cited are an inconsistent menu, the lack of adequate staff and sanitary issues which reportedly needed addressed by the Knox County Health Department.
