MOUNT VERNON — Two road issues, of different sorts, were brought before the Knox County Commissioners, Monday.

The first involved a salt brine application from Ben Hershberger on Kerr Road. Hershberger applied for the permit to put brine water from a well in Jefferson Township on his driveway for ice and dust control.

Several citizens concerned with the chemicals used in brine water, especially if it’s from hydrofracking operations, showed up for the meeting.
