MOUNT VERNON — Edward L. “Mr. Ed” Strouse, 73, of Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at The Whispering Hills Care Center. He was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Mount Vernon, to Alfred Raymond and Helen (Chaney) Strouse.

Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He loved to hunt, being in the outdoors and watching NASCAR. His greatest enjoyment was taking the grandkids fishing.

He is survived by his sons, Mike (Elaine) Strouse, Lee Strouse and Joey Strouse; his mother, Helen Wolfe; nine grandchildren; two nieces and close friends, Russell and Connie Maglott.

Besides his father, Ed was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Strouse, and stepfather, Willis Wolfe.

The family will observe a graveside service on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m., at Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
