MOUNT VERNON — For the second straight day, all local scholastic sporting events were postponed due to chilly temperatures in the region.

East Knox, Highland, Utica and Fredericktown postponed Tuesday’s boys basketball games, while Centerburg postponed its girls home game against Licking Valley.

Mount Vernon’s Tuesday games — both boys and girls — were also postponed.

The new times and dates for this week’s postponed area games are:

•Centerburg girls vs. Licking Valley, Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m.;

•Danville boys at Coshocton, Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m.;

•East Knox boys vs. Cardington, to be determined;

•Fredericktown boys at River Valley, Saturday, Jan. 18, time to be announced; and the girls at Lexington, Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m.;

•Highland boys at Elgin, Saturday, Jan. 25, time to be announced;

•Mount Vernon boys at Olentangy, Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m.; and girls vs. Olentangy, Monday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m.;

•Utica boys vs. Watkins Memorial, Saturday, 6 p.m.;

•MVNU’s men’s basketball game at Taylor was moved to tonight at 7.

Knox County and the surrounding area was under a wind chill warning and, later, a wind chill advisory through today.
