Bulldogs fall to Madison Plains, 42-24

LONDON — Madison Plains had its biggest scoring game of the season for the second week in a row to win its second game of the season, 42-24, over visiting East Knox.
Golden Eagles QB Jake Vallery ran a highly-successful game against the Bulldogs with 185 yards and three touchdowns on 9-of-13 passing. They also got 100 yard rusing performances from Vallery (122) and Travis Chaffin (124) and 132 receiving from Eli Williams.
The Bulldogs (2-4) totaled 324 yards to Plains’s 493. QB Cody Howard ran for 98 yards and threw for 145.
Chaffin scored the first touchdown of the first quarter, but Howard matched it with a 2-yard run to cut the lead to 7-6. Dylan Wears’s 11-yard run in the second quarter put East Knox up 12-7, but the Eagles scored on three Valley TD passes in the period to enter the break with a 28-12 lead.
The Bulldogs cut the lead to 28-18 on Howard’s 7-yard run in the third quarter, but Chaffin ran off a 79-yard TD run later to annul that. Howard completed a 25-yard TD pass to Zach Hill, but Williams clinched the game with a 71-yard catch to close out the third.
East Knox continue road play at Loudonville at 7 p.m. on Friday.
