MOUNT VERNON — As part of the application process, the city of Mount Vernon held a public hearing concerning the assessment and cleanup of the old American National Can property on the northwest side of town.

having worked there when Iwas younger myself an others know there was a lot of times the old still in the wash room was left to overflow an barrels were buried in the back of property along with old roofing materials,I hope they have done a good job of checking for contamination at all levels an depths around area of property. I for one would not want any children playing there.
