She called 911 for the fire department about noon. There was smoke in the house, but no other damage, she said. Fredericktown Community Fire Department firefighters are shown on the roof using probes to clear out the soot.

Virgil Shipley/News The two people in this pickup truck took a wild ride Wednesday morning on Martinsburg Road, south of Martinsburg, near the intersection of Purity Road. The southbound truck left the left side of the road, bounced over a wide driveway, landed and rolled over the guardrail into a deep ditch. The Bladensburg Fire Department said no one was injured. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating. No additional information was available at press time.

Virgil Shipley/News This motorcycle and two vehicles were involved in a rear-end crash on U.S. 36 in front of Troyer’s of Apple Valley, west of Monroe Mills Road on Friday about 4:40 p.m. No one was reported injured. A second car had damage to the left rear corner. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating and no other details were available at press time. The road was closed and after-work traffic was backed up more than a half mile to the west.
