Helping keep others healthy

Preparing healthy snacks for 900 pupils and staff can be a daunting task, but the Mount Vernon City Schools Food Service Department for the last four years has been getting a daily helping hand from students in the Transition Mission class sponsored by the Knox County Educational Service Center.

Centerburg schools set board officers for 2017

Treasurer Ellen Scott told the News on Tuesday that Roger Clark was elected president of the Centerburg Board of Education at its meeting Monday. The new vice president is Lynn McCann, the legislative liaison is Kristi Layton and Kris Weldy is the Knox County Career Center observer.
