Santa’s appearance was the highlight of the evening during Tuesday evening’s 26th Annual Shawn Kelly Memorial Holiday Party. Three-year-old John Arndt of Mount Vernon was excited to sit on Santa’s lap and receive a wrapped present, provided by Kenyon College’s Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

A hands-on discovery

They’re everywhere. They’re everywhere. Our environment is teeming with teeny, tiny little creatures called bacteria, and East Knox biology students recently discovered just how pervasive the microorganisms are.
Arming the students with cotton swabs, instructor Ryan Kirkman assured the students that “most of the bacteria around us are harmless.”

Search on for child support attorney

The search for an attorney for the Child Support Enforcement Agency office is currently underway with the Knox County office of Jobs and Family Services. JFS Director Matthew Kurtz met with the Knox County Board of Commissioners on Monday morning to update them on the progress with the current search.
