MOUNT VERNON — As young girls, many hosted imaginary tea parties with imaginary friends, ultimately enjoying a fine time. What better way to relive those fond memories than with a proper tea, complete with soup, a variety of teas, sandwiches and pastries served on a variety of story-inducing china and silver.

The local chapter of Psi Iota Xi, Beta Upsilon, will be hosting its first “Proper Tea” from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, at The Glenn A. Gallagher Center, 1451 Gambier Road, Mount Vernon.

Tickets will be available in advance of the event from Paragraphs Book Store, People’s Bank in Gambier and at the Healthy Center Massage Therapy & Acupuncture, located at 1 Shalimar Drive in Mount Vernon, beginning in February.
For additional information, send an email to betaupsilon@psiiotaxi.org.

All proceeds from “A Proper Tea” support the sorority’s philanthropic scholarship fund and organizations including Knox County Symphony, the MVHS Debate Team, as well as the Vedette, an annual publication of poetry, fiction and art written by students, MTV Arts, Food for the Hungry school drives and other community projects.
