MOUNT VERNON — The city will be looking into obtaining a grant to help extend sewer lines to serve the Stump Street and Northview Drive area off Sandusky Street, Mayor Richard Mavis reported Friday at his weekly press briefing.

“It’s not in the city, but it’s an area we serve,” Mavis said. “It’s an area that didn’t get served by the Clinton Township Sewer District.”

“We met with (grant consultant) Amy Schocken this week and talked about seeking a Community Development Block grant under a program specifically for water and wastewater projects. We need to replace the water line in that part of Sandusky as well, and we’d like to wrap it into one project,” the mayor said.
