MOUNT VERNON — The 2018 Super Bowl is almost here! Which means it’s time to hit the grocery stores, in search of chicken wings, hot dogs and hamburgers. But, instead of preparing these typical heavy, salty foods for your Super Bowl party, why not think outside of the box a bit and incorporate a few healthy, yet delicious, foods into your menu?

According to Melissa Packard, manager at The Parkside Restaurant & Tavern, 108 Mount Vernon Ave., many Knox County NFL fans and customers of Parkside absolutely love to watch their favorite football teams while munching on simple, yet classic Mexican foods.

“As far as the Super Bowl goes, most people are looking for wings and finger-type foods,” Packard told the News. “We do have wings … but most people want chips and dips, like guacamole.”
