MANSFIELD — Mount Vernon senior Maggie Nussbaum spurred a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter on Thursday, which drove the Yellow Jackets into the lead in a 49-44 Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Mansfield Madison.

“It was probably our best quarter of the season,” Mount Vernon head coach Doug Savage said of the fourth. “We were tied 27-27 with two minutes to play in the third quarter, but Madison outscored us 9-0 to end the quarter. Then we started the fourth quarter on a 14-0 run and take an four-point lead, 41-36.
