MOUNT VERNON — The quarterly Emergency Management Agency board meeting was unusually brief Thursday, but they did approve a budget for the coming year, discussed the status of some of the training programs and approved a raise for the director.

Mark Maxwell’s salary as director is increased 3 percent, in line with raises granted to other county employees. His salary is now $58,526.

Maxwell reported that another Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training class is planned for this year. He also said plans for the elected officials training are almost complete.
