MOUNT VERNON — A Brinkhaven man who twice violated the terms of a recognizance bond was ordered held on a cash bond Friday in Knox County Common Pleas Court.

James C. Beach Jr., 44, was ordered held at the county jail on a $5,000 bond by Judge Richard Wetzel.

Beach was given a recognizance bond, with conditions, in June following his arraignment on a felony charge of domestic violence. According to court records, the bond was continued Nov. 21 after Beach was arrested for allegedly violating the bond conditions. A recognizance bond, also known as an OR bond, is a defendant’s promise to appear, without posting a cash or surety bond.
